"Great!" Lithuania replied after watching Kuma's reaction closely, his lips pursing in a smile while he restrained from commenting on how adorable the well-behaved bear was. Breaking away from the black eyes momentarily to shut the fridge door, Liet then paused in thought, staring down at the fish then back at Kumajirou. "So is there... a certain way you want it prepared? Where do you usually eat?"

The bear tilted his head to the side. "Like that," he told the nation, moving to wait beside his food bowl, located on the floor beside the adjacent counter. He trained his black eyes on the delicious smelling raw fish the nation was holding. Cana-Who would be so proud of Kuma being patient. Maybe it would help him feel better.

Smiling, Lithuania followed the bear to his food bowl, bending down to carefully place the cold fish before him. "You are so patient for waiting this long, Kumajirou," Toris grinned, standing back up to move out of the hungry bear's way. "I hope it tastes as good as it looks."
Still watching Kuma from the corner of his eye, Toris stepped over to the sink to wash the fish smell from his hands.

The bear tore into the fresh fish like he hadn't eaten in a week. After a few bites, he slowed down and looked over at the country washing his hands in the kitchen sink. Lithuania said... that What's-His-Name got hurt this morning. And that's why he brought him home. "Are you taking care of Cana-Who's-It until he gets better?" Kumajirou asked suddenly.

Lithuania's eyes widened slightly as he took in the question from the bear. How long would he be staying? Toris was worried about the meeting, and growing increasingly concerned that he had not heard a word from Russia... Yet it was not like Lithuania had anywhere else to be for a few days, he had booked a hotel room with Ivan for their stay in Canada (Russia refused to room with anyone else attending, and Liet did not mind rooming with the larger Nation).
So staying a while wouldn't hurt... And the small Nation wanted to make sure the other would be okay... Not to mention just... how pleasant he felt being in the Canadian's (and Kumajirou's) presence.
Turning off the water and looking down to the bear as he dried his hands, Toris gave a small smile. "I will help as long as I can... if you don't mind me being here.." Toris added, bending down to Kuma's level, offering his hand to rub the bear's head.

Kumajirou ignored his fish for a moment as he pressed his head into the Lithuanian's hand and let out a low noise almost like a purr. "I don't mind," the bear assured quietly, but his voice sounded rather small. "I don't like when Canada is sick." The bear knew it didn't happen often, but if his country companion was ill, Kumajirou spent most of the time internally fretting over the nation and doing a lot of cuddling because he didn't know how else to to help.

Toris felt his heart falter.
The bear rubbing against his hand spoke with such unexpected sincerity...
Reacting automatically, Toris fell to his knees, embracing Kumajirou around the neck gently while stroking the back of his head. "I don't either," Lithuania replied earnestly. Even though Canada was a Nation who he was only beginning to know... that made no difference.
After a short moment Toris carefully pulled away from the hug, not wanting to make the bear uncomfortable, but the nation continued to pet gradually down the bear's back, his cheeks tinged with warmth.

Right then, Kumajirou decided that the green man was perfectly okay in his book. He understood. Everything was going to be okay. In only a few minutes, the bear finished his fish, as he allowed Toris to stroke the fur along his back. Afterwards he nuzzled the comforting hand with his nose and decided it was time to return to his master. "Cana-Who?" Kumajirou asked, attention focused on the living room. Even though it was more a call for attention than an actual question, it was still answered with a soft "Canada".

The smile returned to Lithuania's face as he listened to the interaction between the two, giving one last pat to Kumajirou's head before standing.
"Should we return to Canada then?" Toris asked the bear before he turned and headed to the living room, stopping behind the couch to speak to Matthew.
"How is everything in here, Mr. Canada? Need anything before I sit down?" Toris looked to the quickly dwindling pile of pancakes with a grin. "More pancakes?"

Matthew watched Toris return from the kitchen with Kumajirou on his heels. "Were you two talking about me?" Canada teased lightly, flashing a tiny smile at his guest and winking at his pet, who had decided to settle down and lay his furry body on top of Matthew's socked feet.
When Toris asked if he needed anything, the Canadian smiled sheepishly. "No, I'm good, you can go ahead and eat. Thanks for feeding Kumajama. Such an impatient little boy..." He reached for his plate and broke off a piece of pancake, treating the now well-mannered bear at his feet with the delicacy before he resumed eating. "I'm a sucker for a cute face," Matthew admitted, one hand scratching behind Kumajirou's ears.

"Ah... me... me too." Lithuania replied to Canada as he sat down, grinning fondly toward the bear, his cheeks dusted with blush. "Kumajirou really cares about you."
Toris took a drink, his thoughts drifting off to the various animals he had cared for throughout his life. "I have to admit... I'm a little jealous," the small Nation admitted, turning to smile wistfully at the blond. "I never had a companion last as long as I have... but maybe that was for the best..." He rubbed the back of his head, the last of the thought coming out more as a whisper. "Heh... but, I still enjoy what little time I get to spend with them." Looking away suddenly, Toris to returned his attention to his pancake dinner, feeling slightly embarrassed he had even brought it up.

Feeling oddly helpless at the quiet comment, Matthew studied Lithuania's profile for a long moment. "Yeah, I'm a lucky guy," he finally admitted, his voice quiet. He winked at Kumajirou, giving the silent okay for the bear to join them on the couch. Kuma was very good about staying off the furniture when company was over -- except for America; he was family -- but Toris seemed to have taken a liking to the bear, so Canada deemed it was probably okay.
"Kumajijou likes you," Matthew commented softly, raking his fingers through the soft, white fur as the bear settled down on the cushion between Matthew and Toris. "Don'tcha buddy? You like my new friend Toris?" Canada smiled gently at his companion as the bear made a sound somewhat akin to purring and rested his muzzle on the Lithuanian's knee, obviously agreeing with his master's assumption

Warmth filled Toris as the bear laid his head upon his lap, the contact sending pleasant tingles once again through the Nation's body as all voluntary contact from animals seemed to do. It was one of the little things in life that could always make him happy, and his hand went straight to Kuma after his moment of complete ahh-a-cute-animal-is-laying-on-me stillness.
"Ah... Kumajirou, I really like you too. Both of you." Toris smiled, delighted that he was accepted so quickly by the bear and that Canada... already considered him a friend. It just felt right, and with no lingering uncertainty as with the first time he was deemed a friend by Russia. "
Liet stroked the white fur on Kuma's head, occasionally scratching gently, secretly hoping to persuade the bear to remain there as he finished his meal.

As he finished his pancakes, Matthew kept watching the Lithuanian man out of the corner of his eye.
God, he had no idea why he was so infatuated with the other nation. So, he was nice and not at all creepy. And he noticed Canada. AND he and Kumajirou liked each other. AND those three were a combination that Matt had never before found in any other nation whom he had tried to make friends with. But that was not an excuse to Matthew to keep staring!
He muttered under his breath in French; a sort of prayer to whatever deity that might be out there to help him keep from making a fool of himself in front of Lithuania. Telling himself not to keep staring at the other nation, Matthew kept one hand running listlessly through Kumajirou's fur -- the bear was still resting complacently between the two nations on the sofa -- and trained his eyes on the syrup trails on his now empty plate.
"So... Lithuania."

Just as the Lithuanian heard his name, he swallowed the last bit of his pancake and fruit, blinking and slowly turning his head toward the lager nation.
He had been deep in pleasant thoughts while the other was quiet, thankful just to be in such good company within a relaxing home. "Yes, Mr. Canada?" Lithuania replied thoughtfully, deciding to add on to his question after following Matthews line of sight to the empty plate. "Do not worry about the clean up, it is no problem for me to take care of it."
