Finally given the chance to hold the World Conference, Canada is determined to make it the best it can be, and hopefully receive the recognition he so deserved. But as usual he is ignored, and his day only gets worse as Russia makes a late entrance.
Things start to look up when the ever observant and also overlooked Lithuania takes a second glance at the distressed Nation, and they find something in each other they had been hoping for all along.

Matthew Williams took a deep breath and looked around the immaculate conference room. He hadn't hosted a world conference in... well, ever, actually. He was hoping that this would be his chance to make an impression on the rest of the world. To finally get a little bit of the recognition he had never had. He wanted everything to be perfect. It was his only shot to get this right. Canada took a seat at the conference table and straightened his shoulders. The rest of the world would be arriving at any moment.
Right on time, the rest of the world began to file into the conference room and take their places at the table. A few moments of chatter ensued before Matthew cleared his throat. Most of the nations were present, and it was already a few minutes past the time to start. "Hello everyone. May I have your attention, please?"
Nothing.
"Hey, um, guys? Can I have your attention, eh?"
America noticed Canada and clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Hey bro. Need some help?"
"N-no, I'm sure--"
America let out a piercing whistle. "Yo! My bro here wants to call this meeting to order!"
The nations quieted down and looked at Canada, most seeming to only have just noticed him.
"Canada, the floor is yours." America stepped back with a wink and took his seat.
"I-I..." Canada swallowed and took a deep breath before starting again. He wasn't going to stutter through the entire conference, damn it! "I just want to thank you all for coming, and allowing me to host this conference. So first on the agenda is America's proposal to... well, I'll just let America explain, eh?"
"Thanks Canadia!" America jumped up from his seat with a wide grin on his face. "Okay dudes, I have this really awesome idea for a new genetically engineered superhero who can totally save the world from global warming. And this one will totally work, I swear!"

Lithuania had a strange feeling about this meeting, an odd sensation in the pit of his stomach that left him perplexed. Was it worry? It certainly seemed to be going wrong so far, Toris affirmed, as he looked in concern at the back of Russia's head.
The tall Nation looked fine, as most would not notice the hidden animosity behind his smiling eyes, the increased stride that the smaller Nation practically had to jog to keep up with, the tiny twitches that only the most observant could see. To anyone who had not been around the cold Nation through all the most vulnerable and dark times, Russia looked cheerful, was humming even.
But Ivan was furious.
A little mishap at the Canadian airport left Russia far from amused, and now he was late for a World Conference, and late was not acceptable by the Russian's standards. By the gait of his step and the menacing curve to his smile, Toris knew someone or something would be the outlet for his irritation.
"...save the world from global warming. And this one will totally work, I swear!" the boisterous voice of America filtered through the large mahogany double doors that were ahead. Without pause in stride the large Russian grasped the handles and threw them open, making his way inside the crowed room without evident concern, shooting an offhanded comment in the American's direction. "None of your idiotic ideas ever work."
As Russia continued to a group of unoccupied seats, Lithuania awkwardly fumbled with the doors, attempting to close them without botheration. After feeling like all eyes were on him (although truthfully no one paid him any mind, everyone was too busy avoiding the gaze of the intimidating Russian) Toris took a nervous seat, doing a double take at the suddenly exceedingly tall nation beside him as he settled in the chair, an overly pleased smile on his face.
Something... was terribly off...

Canada was surprised he wasn't sat on more often.
Being as invisible as he was, Matthew was used to going unnoticed by the other nations for long periods of time. It really was surprising to him that other nations rarely tried to take the same seat as he already occupied. The only nation who had ever sat on him was Russia, and Canada wasn't entirely convinced that it was always accidental.
Matthew really hated when Ivan sat on him. Not only was the Russian nation taller and stronger than Matthew was, he was also quite a bit heavier. It made it quite hard to breathe, and even harder to speak. So Canada had to sit there while Russia sat on him; enduring the pain squeezing his body when Russia settled in against him, paying no attention to the by now quite crushed Canadian he was sitting on.
It was hard to pay attention to a World Conference with a Russian sitting on you.
America frowned slightly at the newly arrived Russian man. "That's just because you haven't heard this one yet!" Alfred turned his focus back to the table in general and outlined his plan with increasingly animated movements.
"...And this hero will totally knock the socks off of global warming, because there's no way something as lame as global warming can ever beat a superhero like this one!" America grinned confidently. "Any questions that I didn't cover? No? Great!" America didn't even pause for breath after asking his question. "So we'll move forward with this plan ASAP, and global warming won't know what hit it! What's next, Canada?" America's quickly spoken words ended abruptly as he looked for his brother, only to realize he was nowhere in sight. "Hey, where'd Mattie go?" he asked aloud, his grin slowly transforming into a look of confusion. When no one seemed to have an answer forthcoming, Alfred's eyes went wide in shock. "Oh my gosh, he's missing!" Alfred cast a panicked glance around the room, as if making sure he hadn't just missed his occasionally invisible twin. "Uhh... break time! Reconvene in... like, an hour, okay dudes? The hero needs to make sure Mattie is okay!" Then America bolted from the room in search of his brother.

Missing...? Canada was missing? Lithuania questioned to himself as he looked around the large room in confusion, watching the other Nations as they began to stir from their dozy slumber, look around, or bolt out of the room like an animal released from it's cage.
If someone is missing... why doesn't anyone seem to care?
Suddenly a thought dawned on him. Who was Canada? Toris had heard the name, knew he was in that country, and yet... had he ever seen the Canadian before..? Furrowing his brow, Lithuania searched through all his past meetings and events with other Nations, yet still no clear image came to mind. Had he just never met him? Sure there we some countries he had never seen in person, and if not for Russia's insistence, he would rarely even travel outside of Europe. But... this was America's brother. He knew that much, he realized, America had spoke of 'Mattie' offhandedly once or twice before. So why could he not put a face to the name...?
His expression troubled, Toris turned to Ivan, only to find the large Russian staring down the American fleeing the room. He jumped as Russia turned back around, humming a dark, "Stupid Amerika," under his breath, his expression still the misleading smile.
"Um, M-Mr. Russia-"
"Stupid, silly Amerika~" Russia sang, this time a little louder, standing curtly and following after the American's boisterous voice yelling for Mattie all down the hallway.
Lithuania turned his attention back the the front and put his head in his hands. He could sure feel a headache coming on. Wait...
Did he just see movement out of the corner of his eye?

Matthew felt the crushing weight lift from on top of him as Ivan left the room and followed after Alfred. Canada tried to take a deep breath; to take some desperately needed oxygen into his lungs before he passed out. But his chest felt like it was on fire, and he couldn't take a full breath. He sat very still for a few moments, just trying to breathe. He was pretty sure he had a broken rib... somehow. He'd broken ribs before, but usually by playing hockey. Not by being sat on.
Matthew tried his hardest to keep his breathing steady as he shifted in his chair and braced an arm across his ribcage, wishing the pain to die down even just a little. He didn't feel like trying to inform anyone that he hadn't been missing(just unobserved and sat upon). He didn't need to. Alfred would eventually return on his own - probably out of boredom - and the other nations would be back in an hour.
But that didn't change the fact that no one except America had seemed to care when told that Canada was missing. And it hurt to know that he really was invisible.

He did see movement-! Lithuania whipped his head around, staring wide-eyed at the well dressed man beside him.
... how long was he... He stared intently, noticing immediately that the blond was extremely pale faced and holding himself as though in pain. Had Russia been...? there was no way...
And then he realized this was Russia he was talking about.
But none of that mattered.
Someone was hurt.
"Ex-excuse me... are you... in pain?"

"Ex-excuse me... are you... in pain?"
Canada's first reaction to the question was to look behind him to see who the brunette was talking to. Certainly it wasn't him. Was it?
Seeing no one else in the room, Matthew looked back at the other man. He looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place him. Canada's second reaction was to ask Can you actually see me? This impulse he resisted. Obviously the man was in fact speaking to Matthew; and as surprising as that was, he managed to respond. "Um. K-kind of. Yeah."

As the worried Lithuania awaited a response from the blond-- wondering why the other Nation looked so confused when he talked to him-- the back of his mind searched for an identity.
His minds first impulse was to say this was America-
Which he rejected immediately. He knew Alfred very well, and this Nation gave off a much... softer, less forceful vibe. And his hair... it was beautiful, much better kept than Alfred's rugged locks... And he had watched America leave the room..!
"Um. K-kind of. Yeah." Toris barely heard the gentle reply. Definitely not Alfred.
On the inside Lithuania felt sick to his stomach with concern, hastily trying to work out the best way to help without even knowing what yet was wrong-
But on the outside he gave the most gentlest of smiles, a look that spoke that everything will be okay and he would do whatever he could to help.
"Can you tell me where... it hurts?" he said, looking the other over with his emerald eyes, "Or h-how I can help?

Matthew watched the other man with a slight hesitancy. He seemed very kind, and hey, he'd even noticed that Canada was there! Still, Matthew was a little wary. It wasn't unusual for Matthew to be forgotten even in the middle of a conversation with another nation. He didn't really want to get his hopes up that the attention would last. But then, he smiled.
When the brunette man smiled, Matthew couldn't help himself from trusting him. The smile seemed so gentle and caring, and it made Canada feel like everything was suddenly okay. That he suddenly had a friend. Or at the very least, someone who cared for the moment. "Can you tell me where... it hurts? Or h-how I can help?"
"M-my ribcage," Matthew managed to say. He sat up a little straighter and grimaced. He didn't want to do that again. Matthew kept his gaze on the green-eyed man beside him and tried to place a name with the kind, concerned looking face.

Toris inwardly grimaced when the blond Nation mentioned his ribcage, knowing all too well how painful and awkward a break to the ribs was to deal with.
And there is not much you can do for it...
On the outside he sighed, yet kept his face positive, reaching out to place a comforting hand on the other's shoulder that was light and careful not to exert too much pressure.
"Oh dear... ah, you should not move..." Lithuania spoke carefully, staring into the other's eyes and unexpectedly having his breath taken away. They were violet... like Ivans... and yet, so full of kindness and hope and... hurting..!
"Ah! Oh yes, I will..." Toris searched memory, eyes lighting up as he remembering he had packed some pills in his bag he brought for the trip, "go get some ice and medicine to help with the pain. ..Alright..?" He spoke the last word hesitantly as he started to rise, feeling an odd sense of uneasiness about leaving this Nation alone.

Matthew bit his lip when the other man suggested leaving. He was afraid he really would be forgotten if the other man left the room. It would be incredibly simple to leave the room and forget why he had gone in the first place. He didn't want to be left alone, and he wanted the company of the kind stranger beside him. But Matthew just nodded his silent agreement. If he was forgotten, so be it. He could surely manage on his own if he had to. He'd been doing that for a long time now. Besides. Matthew wasn't sure he could move at the moment, even if he wanted to. His best shot at relief lay with the green-eyed man. So despite the gamble of being forgotten, he was going to trust him. He didn't really have much choice. "I guess I'll be here, eh?"

Lithuania nodded, staring directly into the blond Nations's eyes for as long as possible as he carefully rose and headed toward the door.
Is this nation....? he quickly shook his head, his identity did not matter right now. Toris hurried to his bag in the other room, rooting around inside until he found the medicine and a small towel, clutching them to his chest as he sprinted into the kitchen. Locating a plastic bag, he filled it with ice, wrapping the towel around that as he headed back out of the room. At the last second he paused, turning around to the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water before returning to the conference room.
The small Nation pushed the door open carefully, slipping inside. He searched the room, giving a mini sigh of relief when he spotted the blond head of hair peeking over the chair (for some reason, Lithuania had not seen anything at first glance).
"Hello, ...I'm back," he said as he approached the other nation, awkwardly holding out all three items at once as his brain failed to register which to offer first. "How are you doing?"

Matthew watched as the other man's deep green gaze studied him. Matthew watched back, until the brunette disappeared out of sight through the conference room door. Then the Canadian's thoughts began to run away with him.
He won't come back. Why would he come back? Even if he does come back, he probably won't see me again. I mean, what are the chances he'd see me twice in a row? I'm too invisible. It was just a fluke. He's not coming back. Holy maple leaves, my chest hurts. Please come back, please come back....
So lost in his thoughts, and focused on trying to breathe even though his ribs protested each inhale, Canada didn't even notice the other man had returned until he was right there. Matthew jumped slightly in surprise when he heard the voice, as soft as it was.
"Hello... I'm back. How are you doing?"
The green-eyed man held out his offering -- an ice pack, a bottle of water, and a small bottle of pain medication. He seemed suddenly flustered, which was a little odd, since he'd been so calm earlier.
"Ah, well..." Matthew gave a not-so-humored laugh as he took the water bottle from the other man's hands, but grimaced and quickly made a note not to laugh for a while. "I'm not one to do a whole lot of complaining, so how about I hold off on answering that until a little later, eh?"

"Ah-!" Stupid, stupid! Toris internally scolded himself, his eyes widening in worry at the look of pain on the other's face. "I'm s-sorry, I should not have made you move!"
Placing the pill bottle behind him on the table, Lithuania used his best judgement after looking the other nation over, carefully placing the ice pack where he was certain the break was. ".. Hold this here, okay? And uh..." he reached back, grabbing the bottle and opening it, shaking out two pills into his hand. Without a second thought he held one up carefully to the other's mouth, silently prompting him to open with an innocent smile. "It will be easier this way, right?"
